As The Concierge Association of Hawaii focuses on what’s to come in the new decade we find ourselves reflecting on those in our past who have helped us thrive. As one of the Concierge Association of Hawaii’s earliest and most active supporters, Luxury Row Waikiki has been an invaluable source of strength for our ohana since we formed in 2009. In 2019, as with years past, Luxury Row was kind enough to host our annual November meeting with a tour of their retailers and a delicious meal provided by Chef Chai.
Considered the “Fifth Avenue” of Hawaii, Luxury Row is home to seven design houses including the best of the best: Chanel, Gucci, Moncler, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, Miu Miu, and Golden Goose. CAH was excited to be granted exclusive tours of the retail spaces and an opportunity to oogle the plethora of high-end products.

Luxury Row is currently Italian street apparel Golden Goose’s only Hawaii location. Not only does the store house the full gambit of the brand’s male, female, and kids lines, but even a few items exclusive to Waikiki. For shoppers purchasing the brand’s signature sneakers, the LACES Bar allows them to select their favorite laces from a variety of options to add some additional kick to their kicks.

The French/Italian brand Moncler is named after an Alpine town in France and known for their signature puff down winter wear. This isn’t exactly the type of store you would expect to find steps away from the beach in Waikiki, and yet since it’s opening in 2015 Moncler has been sucessfully outfitting international visitors looking to keep warm back home in colder climes.

A subsidiary of Prada, Miu Miu is the nick-name of creator and Prada head designer Miuccia Prada. While the brand’s name may be diminutive, the Luxury Row location is anything but. Featuring a large selection of women’s clothing, accessories, and perfumes, this is the great place pick up something special for that someone special in your life.

After touring the shops it was time to start salivating over something other than purses, shoes, and puff jackets. Luckily, with one of Hawaii’s most beloved regional chefs, Chef Chai, catering the event this was not hard to accomplish. Members were delighted to imbibe in wine selections carefully curated to pair with Chef Chai’s signature flavors inspired by his Hawaiian home and Thai upbringing.
